We know the special feeling of playing a new instrument — the sound, the look, the inspiration. That’s exactly how we felt when we first picked up the BTL-4 and BT-5 BLKNB bass guitars. We carefully sampled them and created a virtual instrument you can use with MIDI in VST3 and AU hosts like Cubase, FL Studio, Reaper, and many other DAWs.
Description
The original basses, the ESP E-II BTL-4 BLKNB, and the ESP E-II BTL-5 BLKNB, are true rock giants designed and crafted by ESP*. The basses were built in Japan with spalted maple and alder as body material and they come with a hard maple neck and ebony fretboard. Equipped with two Seymour Duncan humbucker pickups and the finest hardware components, those instruments are delivering outstanding tone quality. We sampled both instruments and brought it into the digital world as an AU and VST3 virtual instrument plugin so you can use it in your music productions.
Here’s what the manufacturer say about the bass:
Formerly called “ESP Standard”, all ESP E-II instruments are created at our ESP factory in Tokyo, Japan, and are designed for professional players who accept no compromises in tone, feel, or reliability for their guitars and basses. The new BTL Series basses (…) offers a set of extraordinarily flexible tools for sculpting the perfect tones for any genre of music.
Available in an outstanding Black Natural Burst finish over an alder body with spalted maple top, the BTL basses offer a sonic signature powered by an Seymour Duncan SSB passive pickup set that’s paired with ESP’s own high-end active 3-band Cinnamon EQ system.

When we transformed the original basses into a MIDI instrument, we stayed true to our philosophy of keeping things simple and user-friendly. That’s why we offer an intuitive yet visually striking GUI. Despite its simplicity, we also provide advanced features for power users, such as key switches.
Just load our plugin into your favourite DAW, start playing or programming with your MIDI controller, and enjoy the sound of this bass in your productions.

User Review:
I have just purchased a couple of Pfundstein’s Bass libraries. The Virtual Eii BTL Rock Bass and The Virtual BassLine Buster Std8 plus. The eight string Virtual BassLine Buster Std8 plus is definitely a unique sounding bass and one I think will get a lot of use.
They both sound very good and are exceptionally easy to use, as they come in Plug in format – not a library were you have to use a sampler. Finally, they are great value for money.
Definitely a recommendation from me
